Freeze it. Twenty minutes of quiet.

Spread something soft into the grooves, freeze it for half an hour, and press it onto a tile or the side of the bath.

Always supervise. Remove the mat once the food is finished.

Made for lickers and smooth surfaces

A dog who dreads the bath braces, twists and scratches, and a nail trim turns into a wrestle. Give him something to lick at his height and he settles. Read the safety note below first.

Best for Lickers · Smooth tile, glass and bathtubs · Supervised feeding
Not for Chewers · Textured vinyl, wood or laminate · Leaving a dog alone

What you are choosing between

Option What arrives Price
Mat The lick mat on its own, in your colour $24.99
Mat + scraper The mat and the silicone scraper that spreads and cleans it $29.99
Scraper only Just the scraper, if you already have a mat $9.99

The scraper is worth the five dollars. It spreads soft food evenly into the grooves.

Always supervise your dog

Remove the mat as soon as the food is finished. Silicone can be chewed and swallowed. This is not a toy to leave your dog alone with.

The suction cups can grip skin, so stay in the room.

What it does

  • Freeze it and it lasts. Spread it flat and it is gone in three minutes. Freeze it for half an hour and most dogs take about twenty.
  • Sticks to smooth things. Tile, glass, the side of the bath, a shower wall. That is where the suction actually holds.
  • The nail-clipping trick. Use it to keep a dog still. Stick it to the bath wall, and clipping stops being a fight.
  • Slows a fast eater. The grooves turn a bowl of wet food into a few minutes of work instead of thirty seconds of gulping.
  • Food-grade silicone. Soft, non-toxic, and it goes in the dishwasher. For the deepest grooves, a soak and a brush help.

How to use it

  1. Spread something soft into the grooves — yoghurt, wet food, peanut butter
  2. Freeze it for 20 to 30 minutes
  3. Press it firmly onto a smooth surface
  4. Stay in the room. Take it away when the food is gone.

If you use peanut butter, check the label says no xylitol — it is toxic to dogs.

Where it sticks, and where it doesn't

Where it sticks Where it does not
Glazed tile Textured vinyl
Glass and mirrors Wood and laminate
The side of a bath Painted or papered walls
A shower wall Anything with a grain or a texture

Press it down hard with a flat palm. If the surface has any texture at all, it will not hold — and a mat your dog can lift is a mat your dog will chew.

Size and colours

20 × 20 cm — about the size of a side plate.

Colours: blue, green, pink, purple, yellow.

Questions

Where does it stick?
On smooth surfaces: glazed tile, glass and the side of the bath, which works best. It is not made for textured vinyl, wood or laminate.

Is it safe to leave my dog alone with it?
No. Always supervise, and take the mat away when the food is gone. The suction cups can grip skin, so please do not leave the room.

Is it right for a chewer?
It is made for lickers. The silicone is soft, so a dog who chews should not have it.

How long will it keep him busy?
Spread flat, about three minutes. Frozen for half an hour, around twenty minutes.

Do I need the scraper?
No, but it makes the job easier. Spreading something frozen into shallow grooves with a knife is fiddly, and the scraper is shaped for it. If you already own one, buy the mat on its own.

How do I clean it?
It goes in the dishwasher. For the deepest grooves, soak it in warm water and go over them with a brush or the scraper.

What can I put on it?
Plain yoghurt, wet food, mashed banana, pumpkin, peanut butter. If you use peanut butter, check the label says no xylitol — it is toxic to dogs.

Why we sell this one

Bath time and nail trims are easier with a dog who is busy.

Spread something soft across the mat, freeze it, and press it to the side of the bath or a tiled wall at his height. He licks, and he settles.

It is made for a dog who licks, stuck to something smooth, filled with something frozen, while you are in the room.

Do that and you get twenty quiet minutes.
