Questions
Can I return it if I do not like it?
No. It is engraved with your dog's name, so it cannot be resold or restocked. That is why we show you the preview before you order — please read it twice.
What if I spell his name wrong?
Then the tag arrives spelled that way. The preview on this page shows exactly what will be engraved. Check it before you tick the confirmation box.
What if his name is long?
The box stops at 14 characters on the front. If you are at or near that, email us at contact@collarandcrest.com with the name and we will confirm it fits before you pay.
How big is it really?
5 cm long and 2.8 cm tall — about the length of an adult thumb. It is a proper, readable tag, not a charm. On a very small dog it will feel like a lot of metal.
Is there another shape or size?
No. One bone, one size, one finish. We would rather sell one tag that is right than four that are nearly right.
Will the engraving wear off?
It is cut into the steel with a laser rather than printed on top, so it does not rub away the way printed tags do. It will scratch and dull over years of use, like any metal that lives on a collar.
Will it rust?
It is stainless steel. Rinse it if he swims in the sea.
Will it fit his collar?
Two rings come with it — a split ring and an S-hook. One of them fits almost every collar.
How long does it take?
It is made after you order, so allow longer than our other products.
Why we sell this one
A tag is the one thing on your dog that has to still be readable in two years.
Printed tags stop being readable in months. The ink sits on top of the metal and the collar rubs it off. By the time it matters, the number is a smudge.
So this one is cut into the steel instead.
